Diversity in Higher Education – The Profiles Series

Lincoln University, one of the first Historically Black Universities, will be featured on the Profiles Series program.

Lincoln University, PA, April 16, 2007 –(PR.com)– Lincoln University announced today that it will be profiled in a story about Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Named after former President Abraham Lincoln, Lincoln University within its first 100 years graduated many Black professionals, including Thurgood Marshall. “We pride ourselves on taking those nice jewels that are unpolished and bringing them here and shining them up and polishing them, and when they graduate they can compete against anybody,” says Lincoln University President, Ivory Nelson Ph. D.

The university will be featured on the Profiles Series, a professional program geared towards informing and educating domestic and international viewers. “We are proud to do a show on historically black colleges and universities such as Lincoln, that continue to educate our youth,” says Profiles Series Executive Producer Wali Waiters.

Friendship Sorority Featured on the Profiles Series

Beta Sigma Phi is fondly known as the “friendship organization.” Now with about 165,000 members, the sorority continues to grow and work actively in the community.

Kansas City, MO, August 04, 2007 –(PR.com)– Beta Sigma Phi announced that they are to be spotlighted on The Profiles Series. A non-academic sorority that has been in existence since 1931, Beta Sigma Phi is fondly known as the “friendship organization.” Now with about 165,000 members, the sorority continues to grow and work actively in the community.

Beta Sigma Phi annually raises approximately $3,000,000 for local charities. Beta Sigma Phi is a non-academic sorority based on the tenets of life, learning, and friendship. Established during the Great Depression in 1931, this organization served as a way of connecting women during a very difficult time via social, cultural and educational events.
